“Are there limits to how early or late in my pregnancy I can come in?”
Not at all! You can come in for a massage in your first trimester right until the fourth trimester. As long as everything is going smoothly, you can absolutely come in for a Pregnancy Massage. As a NurtureLife® practitioner I offer wonderful support throughout the perinatal period. The body undergoes many changes and the discomforts of pregnancy can be relieved during a massage.
“What is the best time to come in for a massage?”
With every prenatal massage treatment, you will get a 15 min consultation in which we will discuss the most relevant health information in regard to you and your baby. To get the most out of your treatment, it is recommendable by aligning pregnancy massage treatments with prenatal check-ups. Depending on your pregnancy discomforts you may require more treatments to help ease your discomfort. Some like to attend weekly, fortnightly, or have a wellness day by attending their prenatal check-up in the morning and having their massage in the afternoon. It’s all possible!
“What are the benefits of a Pregnancy Massage?”
This massage promotes a greater vitality and less fatigue for mothers. Helps soothe nervous tension resulting in improved sleep. Muscular flexibility, which is most helpful during the last trimester and birth itself. Results in a relaxed mother, leading a happier healthier pregnancy.
“Why is it important to be treated by a therapist who has trained in pregnancy massage?”
A therapist trained in pregnancy and postnatal massage will have a full understanding of the physiological changes that occur during these periods and what precautions need to be taken. A trained therapist will use appropriate techniques for pregnancy and ensure that your treatment is catered towards your needs, always looking for signs and symptoms that ensure you are provided with the safest treatment possible.
“How can I pay?”
We accept payments by bank transfer or cash.
“Do you offer massage Gift Vouchers?”
Yes, I do! A pregnancy massage is a perfect way to show someone how much you care. Gift Vouchers can be purchased online (digital voucher) or in the studio (nicely wrapped Gift Voucher).
“What do I have to wear?”
Whatever you feel comfortable in. For most treatments you will take off the majority of your clothing and I will treat you discreet and will use appropriate draping.
“What are your hours of operation?”

“Do I have to lie on my tummy?”
No, a NurtureLife® Pregnancy Massage is a massage where you will lie in a side-lying position supported by soft pillows.
“Will the massage bring on labour?”
Not at all, your baby will come when he/she is good and ready to meet the world. During a specialised NurtureLife® Pregnancy Massage there will be no pressure points massaged that could bring on labour.
“What are your Covid-19 precautionary measures?”
The health and wellbeing of our staff and guests is our highest priority. As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are applying extra screening processes and hygiene measures to safeguard visitors to our practice. For all of our safety, we ask you to fill in a Self-declaration prior to each massage (until further notice). If you are presenting any of the following symptoms relating to Covid-19 like Fever, Dry Cough or Difficulty Breathing, recently been in contact with someone diagnosed with coronavirus or travelled outside Australia in the last 2 weeks, then as a precautionary measure, we cannot massage you and we have to re-book your appointment. We ask for your full support as we all have a shared responsibility to minimise the risk of exposure and protect our individual and collective health. Be sure that the information you'll give is accurate and complete. Please get immediate medical attention if you have any of the severe COVID-19 signs.
“How can I get the most out of my massage?”
Some helpful things to remember are:
- If you have a cough or cold (or not feeling well), reschedule to when you are feeling better. Having a massage is similar to a light work-out for your body. The best thing you can do is reduce the stress placed on your body and let it recover quicker.
- Lying down for your treatment can cause some discomfort when you ate a large meal before massage. Try to have a small snack instead before your massage appointment.
- Relax. You will get the most from your massage if you allow yourself to check out of your daily demands as long as you are on my massage table.
“What is your cancellation policy regarding a massage?”
If you need to reschedule your booking please call 0477 293 544 or send me an email. I will do my best to accommodate your request.
“What are the benefits of a postnatal massage?”
The postnatal period is considered 3 months or less since giving birth. Postnatal massage promotes early recovery and a smooth transition into new motherhood. You can be assured that you will be positioned in a way that is of most comfort to you, the side lying position is commonly used for this, considering your breast are swollen and not comfortably lying on them.
“How soon after giving birth can I have a massage?
Massage is so great for mums after they have given birth. It allows them to reconnect with their body and appreciate the recovery mode that it is now undertaking. As soon as you feel you are ready, you can book in for a massage.
Please check with your doctor or midwife first if you are 6 weeks postnatal or less before booking in. Complications can occur during the birth despite a smooth pregnancy and in this case your doctor or midwife will determine the suitability of a massage for you during this time.
“Is my baby allowed to come in with me?”
As soon as your baby has been born and you book a Postnatal Massage, your baby is more than welcome! While Mum is getting a massage, your newborn can sleep next to you.
